McCall-Thomas Engineering is a multi-faceted engineering firm housing multiple divisions including the Communications Engineering Division, the Electrical Engineering Division, the Electric Utility Service Division, the Electric Field Operations & UAS, as well as the McT Learning Center and Print Services.


As a McCall-Thomas Underground Foreman, you will be joining a team of dedicated individuals committed to our mission of providing quality solutions and services to each of our clients. The Underground Foreman will oversee the work of his/her crews. The Foreman will be able to perform all the duties of an Underground Technician & Operator. He/she will help train new hires and operators on proper processes and job functions. The Foreman will submit daily time sheets for his/her crew members. The Foreman will ensure that all employees follow job site safety processes and protocols. The primary responsibilities for this role will require that this employee: 


  • Load, unload, and transport material, tools, and equipment
  • Restore/landscape disturbed areas of the jobsite
  • Dig trenches, backfill excavations, and compact and level earth to grade specifications
  • Identify utilities in the trench/bore path
  • Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment
  • Ensure that equipment is cleaned and maintained
  • Maintain a clean and safe job site
  • Follow all on-site safety procedures
  • Report incidents to Supervisor or Safety Manager immediately
  • Submit daily timecards for crew members
  • Operate all heavy equipment in a safe manner
  • Manage crew, ensure productivity
  • As built & hand in completed prints


McCall-Thomas Engineering has contracts with several utilities on the East Coast to provide storm damage assessment support in the event of severe weather. Our Electric division employees are required to be available to travel for our Storm Damage Assessment response team when called, either as a Driver or as an Assessor. Details will be discussed in more detail in an interview.

 

What Will You Need:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Eligibility to work in the US without sponsorship
  • Valid driver's license (CDL Class A strongly preferred)
  • Must have previous experience working from blueprints, and specifications
  • Experience (3+ years) in conduit placement,  hand hole placement, and cable and fiber pulling
  • Experience leading a typical 3-man crew
  • Ability to travel as project locations change
