Job Title: 2nd shift Bindery and Cutting Lead

Overview: As a Bindery and Cutting Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the bindery and cutting operations within our manufacturing facility. You will lead a team of bindery and cutting operators, ensuring that production targets are met while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Leadership:
   • Lead, train, and supervise a team of bindery and cutting operators.
   • Delegate tasks effectively, ensuring smooth workflow and meeting production schedules.
   • Provide coaching and performance feedback to team members to optimize productivity and quality.
2. Production Management:
   • Plan and coordinate production schedules to meet customer demands and deadlines.
   • Monitor production processes to ensure adherence to quality standards and efficiency targets.
   • Troubleshoot equipment issues and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
3. Quality Assurance:
   • Conduct regular quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet customer specifications.
   • Implement quality control measures and procedures to maintain product consistency and minimize defects.
   • Address quality issues promptly, investigating root causes and implementing preventive measures.
4. Safety and Compliance:
   • Enforce safety protocols and procedures to create a safe working environment for all employees.
   • Conduct safety training sessions and promote a culture of safety awareness among team members.
   • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies related to bindery and cutting operations.
5. Equipment Maintenance:
   • Oversee the maintenance and servicing of bindery and cutting equipment to ensure optimal performance.
   • Schedule preventive maintenance activities and coordinate repairs as needed.
   • Identify opportunities for equipment upgrades or replacements to enhance efficiency and productivity.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in print/bindery operations is a plus.
• Proven experience in bindery and cutting operations, with at least 4 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Strong technical knowledge of bindery and cutting equipment, processes, and materials.
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members.
• Solid understanding of quality control principles and practices.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and work effectively under pressure.
• Proficiency in computerized manufacturing systems and software applications.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
