We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Land Use Development/Permitting Specialist to join our team.

In this role, you will be responsible for navigating the complexities of local, state, and federal regulations to secure necessary permits and approvals for land development projects.

Your primary duties will include conducting research on zoning laws and regulations, preparing and submitting permit applications, coordinating with governmental agencies and stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with all relevant codes and standards.

The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a thorough understanding of land use planning processes, and excellent communication abilities to effectively liaise with internal teams and external parties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research and interpret zoning ordinances, land use codes, and regulations.
  • Prepare and submit permit applications and development plans.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, and environmental consultants to gather necessary documentation.
  • Interface with governmental agencies and stakeholders to facilitate project approvals.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, codes, and standards throughout the development process.
  • Provide expertise and guidance on land use planning and regulatory requirements to internal teams.
  • Monitor project timelines and budgets related to permitting activities.
  • Resolve permitting issues and address regulatory challenges as they arise.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Environmental Science, Public Administration, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Proven experience in land use planning, permitting, or related regulatory affairs.
  • Strong understanding of local, state, and federal regulatory processes.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex information to diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in GIS software and permit tracking systems is a plus.
  • Certification from relevant professional organizations (e.g., American Planning Association) is advantageous.
