General Summary of Duties: 

The Patient Care Specialist at Atlantic Cove Medical Group is responsible for coordinating and scheduling appointments, managing patient registrations, and providing exceptional customer service. This role is crucial in ensuring a seamless and efficient scheduling process for patients and supporting the administrative functions of the medical group. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Answer Phones: Promptly and professionally answer incoming calls, addressing patient inquiries, concerns, and requests. 

  • Schedule Appointments: Coordinate and schedule appointments for various diagnostic imaging procedures, including MRI, CT scans, ultrasounds, and X-rays. 

  • Register New Patients: Efficiently register all new patients, ensuring complete and accurate information is entered into the electronic medical records (EMR) system. 

  • Coordinate Scheduling: Work with patients, physicians, and other healthcare providers to ensure timely and accurate appointments. 

  • Verify Information: Verify patient demographics, insurance information, and obtain any necessary documents. 

  • Provide Appointment Details: Inform patients of appointment details, including preparation instructions and directions to the clinic. 

  • Data Entry: Enter patient information and scheduling details accurately into the EMR system. 

  • Respond to Inquiries: Answer incoming calls and respond to inquiries from patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals. 

  • Confidentiality: Maintain the confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations. 

  • Administrative Support: Assist with administrative tasks and other duties as assigned to support the smooth operation of the call center and the medical group. 

Qualifications: 

  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in medical office or customer service role. 

  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills. 

  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. 

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in using computer systems, scheduling software, and electronic medical records. 

  • Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently as needed. 

Compensation: 

  • Pay Rate: $18-22 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications. 

  • Expected Hours: 40 hours per week.
