Doctor Winder Operator

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Mounts slit rolls of product onto shaft of machine, either manually or with a hoist. Removes rolls as well.
- Sets up and makes necessary adjustments to the machine.
- Must be able to identify print defects and splice good material together.
- Reads and understands OP specs of products being run. Must know packaging materials required for palletizing finished product also. Occasionally uses hand tools to prepare packaging materials
- Completes daily production reports.
- Operates stretch wrap machine to wrap finished pallets
- Regularly cleans machine and surrounding area.
- Actively participates in safety programs and makes safety observations. Follows plant safety rules.
- Trains employees new to the position.
- Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent. Previous Dr Winder experience a plus.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee frequently is required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Such instances are rare as employees have specific instruction on approved/unapproved lifts. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
