The Los Angeles Headache Center board-certified are migraine specialists & neurologists committed to providing excellent neurological care to the community.

We are looking for a **LONG TERM** Front Desk/Medical Assistant to join our team

  • CHECK patients IN AND OUT for scheduled appointments
  • COLLECT payments BALANCES DUES, COPAYS, and co-insurances.
  • SCAN and upload all patient information into the EMR
  • Ensure SCAN FOLDER IS CLEARED of all SCANS daily and archived
  • Accurately enter insurance and patient demographics is entered in the EMR SYSTEM
  • Complete patient triage when required
  • ANSWER PHONE CALLS AND PROCESSING TELEPHONE MESSAGES (RING#1)
  • SCHEDULING: BOTOX, F/U, NEW PTS
  • ENTERING ALL NEW PTS TO EMR SYSTEM BEFORE THEY ARE SEEN
  • Complete APPOINTMENT CONFIRMATIONs within 1 week of scheduled appointment to ensure full prescriber schedules
  • Ensures BENEFITS AND patient BALANCES are documented prior to scheduled visit
  • MAKING SURE ALL CASH PAY PTS HAVE NOTES for FEE collection prior to scheduled appointment. includingVIRTUAL APPOINTMENTS.
  • COLLECT CC information for all patients during scheduling for payment of fees associated with visit
  • Ensure new patient forms and insurances are uploaded for ALL NEW VIRTUAL APPOINTMENTS, Ex: ZOOM, PHONE, FACETIME
  • Complete MEDICATION REFILLS request IF NEEDED via E-SCRIPT
  • Review fax box DAILY AND Upload TO PT CHARTS upon receipt
  • PRINT LABS, DIAGNOSTIC TESTS, and REPORTS RELEVANT to patient CARE FOR doctor REVIEW
  • FAX documents daily per request and requirement. EXAMPLE: MRI SLIPS, MEDICATION REFILLS, and REPORTS
  • COORDINATE and schedule representative lunches
  • Complete request for medication samples with representatives
  • Ensure LA CARE AUTHORIZATIONS are completed as needed
  • Complete and SORT ADMIN EMAIL folder AND REPLY TO EMAILS request

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Must be able to recognize and respond appropriately to urgent/emergent situations per protocols.
  • Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
  • Enhances practice reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Maintain professional appearance and personal conduct at all times.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, staff and management.
  • Effectively cope with typical job stress.
  • Document work processes as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

**Medical Benefits coming soon to The Los Angeles Headache Center this year** $1,000 limit per month will be provided to any newly hire candidates for any medical insurance cost while benefits are established in the practice.

In addition, she is a part of the Cedars-Sinai stroke team and aggressively pursues stroke intervention in complex decision-making treatment for patients that qualify. This comprehensive stroke coverage includes Cedars Sinai Marina Del Rey Hospital and Torrance Memorial Hospital. She is also serving as the Neurology Director at Cedars-Sinai Marina Del Rey Hospital. Lastly, she is also currently working with NFL Concussion Settlement program and one of select MAF and BAP certified neurologists who is able to assess NFL players involved in the settlement due to concussion related injuries.

Dr Andrew Blumenfeld is Director of The Headache Center of Southern California, San Diego; and co-Director of The Los Angeles Headache Center. He has offices in San Diego and Los Angeles. He is Board-certified in Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and is also certified in Headache Medicine. Dr Blumenfeld is a member and fellow of both the American Academy of Neurology and the American Headache Society. He is the founding chair of the American Headache Society section on Interventional Procedures for Headache. He has published widely and has over 100 peer review publications. One of his manuscripts was voted the top publication in the Headache journal. His research interests have focused on the use of Botox for migraine. He helped to develop the injection protocol used in the pivotal migraine trials and has injected more patients for this condition than any other provider in the world. He teaches other providers on this procedure nationally and internationally.
