Essential duties and responsibilities of the Maintenance Technician (Automation/Electro-Mechanical) can include, but are not limited to:

  • Machine and automation troubleshooting; diagnoses problems and identified solutions

  • Disassembles, repairs, and installs wiring, electrical and electronic components for machinery and equipment

  • Installs, programs, and debugs machinery and equipment such as robots or programmable logic controllers

  • Sets up and operates machine tools such as grinder, drill, and milling machine to repair or fabricate equipment, machine parts, jigs, and fixtures and tools

  • Contribute to the design of new automation equipment, end of arm tools, fixtures, jigs, etc.

  • Create, modify, update CAD models as needed

  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment following safety procedures and policies

  • Actively communicate with all team members as needed

  • Comply with work requirements related to attendance and notice of absence, general conduct and following work instructions

  • Monitor and communicate materials needed to support normal production activity

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Experience as a Maintenance Technician and Electro-Mechanical Technician

  • Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatics

  • Trade school associate degree or certification preferred but not required

  • Must be able to qualify and maintain forklift certification

  • Capable of lifting and carrying 55 pounds

  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible in work duties

  • Displays good communication skills in working within department and with other departments

  • Ability to organize daily workload to accommodate extra duties or emergency jobs as required

  • Experience and/or education in the following:

    • Industrial Controls – Machine Safety Systems, PLC Logic, Relays, Sensors (Proximity, Laser and IR)

    • Electronics 120V and 24VDC

    • Troubleshooting electronics, pneumatics and mechanical systems

    • Industrial Robotics Yushin & Wittmann

    • Fabrication – Aluminum extrusions, vertical milling and welding

    • VFD Drives and Part Conveyors

    • 3D Printing and CNC Router

    • CAD Solidworks

Required Language Skills:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence

  • Ability to speak effectively before small group of employees

Required Mathematical Skills:

  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations

Required Reasoning Ability:

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
