Qualifications:
A minimum of 1 year experience in Industrial Maintenance (including Hydraulics, Mechanical, and Electrical) or 1 year of experience in underground maintenance is required. Candidates must possess a valid KY Inexperienced or Experienced Underground Miner Certification or be willing to attend and complete a 40-hour Underground Miner Inexperienced course. Reliable transportation and a valid Driver's license are essential.

Reporting Structure:
This role reports directly to the Maintenance Foreman.

Key Responsibilities:
The primary duties of this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Conducting preventive maintenance and performing repairs or replacements on all production and support machinery.
  • Executing routine maintenance tasks on production equipment, such as greasing, fluid inspections, and oil/filter changes.
  • Completing additional tasks as assigned by the Maintenance Foreman or Mine Foreman.

Work Objective:
The goal of this position is to assist Mechanics in the upkeep and repair of underground mining equipment and machinery.

Work Schedule:
The workweek consists of five days, from Monday to Friday. Occasionally, employees may be required to work on Saturdays. Overtime may be mandated by the maintenance or mine foreman. Flexibility in shift assignments is necessary, as this role may involve rotating between day and second shifts or a consistent third shift.

Position Overview:
Responsibilities include operating machinery and utilizing various hand tools, such as hammers and knives, as needed. Candidates must be capable of lifting weights ranging from 50 to 100 lbs. Collaboration with team members is essential.

Additionally, candidates must be prepared to obtain Underground Electrical Certification within two years of starting employment.
