Job Summary:

The staff accountant will assist the accounting team with the preparation and maintenance of the company’s financial records.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and update accounting records and files.
  • Prepare, verify, allocate, and post journal entries in accordance with GAAP standards.
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes by reconciling general ledger accounts and bank accounts.
  • Manage company credit cards while recording and reconciling monthly transactions.
  • Process payroll and maintain employee time records.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with customers, vendors and project managers.
  • Assist with audit fieldwork for both operational and financial audits.

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll software.
Education and Experience:
  • BS in Accounting or similar field from a 4-year college or university.

Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
