We are seeking a results-driven Freight Broker to join our growing Produce team. The ideal candidate will have experience in produce, exceptional communication skills, and an understanding of the transportation and freight industry. In this role, you will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with customers, carriers, and ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of freight

Requirements:

· Prospect, locate, and qualify new customer/shipper accounts.

· Locate, recruit, and secure qualified transportation carriers.

· Secure appropriate equipment and schedule pick-up and delivery appointments.

· Track and trace shipments to eventual delivery.

· Provide transit and delivery information to customers, as necessary.

· Assist in the settlement of freight invoices and freight claims.

· Ability to work in a fast-pace, teamwork environment.

· Experience with Transportation Management Systems (“TMS”), preferably McLeod PowerBroker.

· Availability to handle shift work and work a few weekends a month


Experience:

· High School degree or equivalent.

· 2+ years of brokerage sales and operations, preferably cradle to grave, experience in produce

· Proficient in Microsoft (Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint).

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· High energy, persistent, and results-driven individual.

· Ability to work independently and as a team player.
