About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Buyer to join our finance team. The Buyer will play a crucial role in sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing goods and services for Superior. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in procurement, preferably in the industrial or construction with a deep understanding of project-based ERP systems, experience in negotiating terms and conditions with vendors, and a strong ability to drive cost savings while maintaining quality standards.

Experience with the implementation of an ERP/MRP preferred, along with the ability to work with a variety of key stakeholders across the business.

  • Source and procure goods and services for the company in accordance with established policies and procedures.• Improve organizational efficiency by implementing and maintaining a purchase order process.
    • Utilize Vista procurement systems to manage the procurement process efficiently and accurately.
    • Work closely with operations and finance team members, including project managers, within Superior to achieve cost savings and organizational goals.
    • Evaluate, select, and maintain vendors based on quality, cost, reliability, and other relevant factors.
    • Monitor and manage vendor rebate programs to maximize rebate potential and ensure compliance.
  • • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their procurement needs and requirements.
    • Monitor supplier performance and address any issues or concerns that may arise.
    • Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements within the procurement function.
    • Maintain accurate records of procurement activities and expenditures.
    • Stay informed about market trends, industry developments, and best practices in procurement.
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and ethical standards in procurement activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • At least 7-10 years experience in procurement, preferably in the industrial or construction industries in project based ERP systems.
  • Previous experience with rolling out or developing an ERP system and training others on processes and system usage. 
  • Proven ability to negotiate effectively with vendors and secure favorable terms and conditions.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
