Job Description:

Design management of multiple projects starting from early project initiation phase through the completion of the design and construction phases, in concert with external Architectural and Engineering Teams. Lead an internal Design Review Team to develop, update and implement district design standards on multiple projects.

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor of Architecture or Master of Architecture degree from five or six year university program and ten years minimum related experience in the architecture industry.
  • Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of Adobe Acrobat.
  • Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD.
  • Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of BlueBeam Revu.
  • Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of eBuilder.
  • Ability to become familiar with company-specific programs and software.
  • Proficiency in collaboration and delegation of duties.
  • Strong organizational, project management and problem-solving skills with multi-tasking abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Professional demeanor.

Responsibilities: 

  • Design management of multiple projects occurring concurrently starting from early project initiation phase through the completion of the design and construction phases.
  • Prepare Facilities List for Relief Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) projects.
  • Coordinate with various stakeholders for District’s program needs for CIP projects.
  • Coordinate with Facilities Planning and Real Estate Management to incorporate entitlement activities into project schedules and support Project Managers; meet with various municipalities to coordinate project entitlement requirements.
  • Assist Project Managers (PM) in facilitating Design Meetings with external AE Teams for various project types; respond to PM questions concerns during Design and Construction; review outstanding and upcoming project deliverables and strategize to maintain project schedule and complete tasks.
  • Organize /participate in Page Flip review sessions with AE Teams.
  • Manage an internal Design Review Team (DRT) with multiple disciplines including Civil, Architectural, Mechanical/ Plumbing and Electrical Reviewers; develop new processes / procedures; review workload and discuss lessons learned on project reviews.
  • Ensure Design Reviews are conducted on schedule.
  • Permit Tracking with in house Building Department and Office of the Fire Marshall – assist Project Manager by managing permit schedule dates.
  • Maintain Design Guidelines by updating existing and developing new District standards in concert with various Stakeholders.
  • Maintain and update Design related tasks in District Process and Procedures Manual.
  • Review Design related Community Meeting presentations and attend meetings.
  • Reporting to executive members.

Secondary Responsibilities: 

  • Support Project Managers in Pre-Design NTP Due Diligence activities.
  • Support Real Estate Team in preparation of presentations including Site Placement Studies.

Work Availability: 

  • Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined by management.
  • Must be available and willing to work weekends and/or holidays as the employer determines necessary or desirable to meet requirements.
