Position Summary:

The Receptionist will function in a non-clinical role as part of the care team. The Receptionist will perform clerical and administrative duties for the patients of our practice. Front Desk Personnel with report directly to the Office Manager.

Key Functions/Responsibilities:

• Greet patients upon arrival

• Enter new patient information into the practice management software

• Confirm correct and updated demographic information for established patients

• Scan new patient documents medical records, immunization records into electronic medical record

• Obtain insurance benefits and coverage details and document pertinent information in patient chart

• Collect and track co-payments, patient payments, patient balances

• Answer multiple telephone lines

• Schedule appointments, Insurance Eligibility

• Patient check-out

• Manage and store incoming faxes appropriately

• Register patients for secure patient portal

• Other duties as assigned

 

 

Required Skills / Abilities

• Must be fluent in spoken and written English / Spanish

• Must have the knowledge necessary to work with computers and EHR

• Must have good communication skills

• Must be able to work well with others

• Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, staff, and patients

• Must be able to multitask

• Must be able to maintain a professional communication style with patients

• Must be willing to help others
