Job Title: Field Service Technician – Refrigeration and HVAC

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

•        Repair and maintain refrigeration racks \ one on one system.

•        Perform preventive maintenance on all refrigeration related equipment.

•        Able to read and understand electrical schematics.

•        Solid knowledge of building blueprints.

•        Willing to mentor and train lower-level techs.

•        Must be organized and able to work under pressure.

•        Maintain safe work practices in support of OSHA Health & Safety and NFPA 70e standards.

 

Refrigeration and HVAC Responsibilities and qualifications

  • Perform preventive maintenance on all refrigeration and HVAC related equipment
  • Must be organized and able to work under pressure
  • Self-motivated and work with little supervision
  • commercial HVAC experience
  • Refrigeration EPA R410A certification
  • Demonstrated skills to perform HVAC and Refrigeration installation, not limited to Walk ins, mobile chiller, HVAC condenser, motors, coils etc…
  • Advanced Refrigeration & HVAC installation
  • Advanced Refrigeration diagnostic + repair
  • Brazing
  • Soldering
  • Hot side is a plus
  • Troubleshooting, repair and maintenance at a technician level 5 or Knowledge of mechanical systems, building materials and
  • Completion of a four- year apprenticeship program
  • Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to the jobs/Work Orders
  • Remove and replace existing Refrigeration & HVAC systems without supervision, including but not limited to WIC/WIF, Remote refrigeration , RTU’s, Split AC systems, Heat Pumps, , MAU’s and Exhausts Ice Machines
  • Install Refrigeration & HVAC systems in new construction projects from rough-in to startup.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English to communicate with all levels of management
  • Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks with competing deadlines defined by industry and regulatory standards
  • Solid knowledge of building blueprints
  • Willing to mentor and train lower-level techs
  • Strong understanding of job site safety
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and perform duties with minimal supervision in isolated areas
  • Knowledge and experience in the proper use and safe operation of hand tools, equipment and testing devices necessary to perform all work assignments
  • Ability to stand, sit or squat for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift, move and carry material up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to climb stairs, ladders and work at extended heights (50 feet)
  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
    • i.e., but not limited to, dust mask, gloves, eye protection and hearing protection
  • Ability to wear a company uniform and maintain a neat personal appearance

o   High School Diploma or GED

o   5 years of experience in maintaining similar type and size commercial equipment, along with a current Universal CFC certification

•  Working knowledge of desktop computers and Internet based programs to perform required annual training.

•  Valid Vehicle Operators license

•  Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain a good driving record
