As he dove more into the solar industry, Trevor realized that massive savings could be passed on to customers if door-to-door salespeople were removed from the process and customers purchased solar online. 


Matt Smith joined Trevor and they co-founded Project Solar in 2021. By cutting out the door-knockers and leveraging the power of internet marketing, Project Solar creates a more efficient solution that drastically reduces cost while simultaneously improving the customer experience. 


We raised a $23M Series A round of financing in 2022 and currently have a team of about 40 dedicated team members who are based in our Utah headquarters, or working remotely across the US and Canada. Come join a disruptor who is driving down the cost of clean energy


POSITION OVERVIEW:


The Inside Sales Closer will drive revenue by closing company-generated sales leads who have paid a $100 deposit signifying they want to go solar with Project Solar. Your role will be to close at least 40% of these customers. Customers will have come through a specific funnel geared toward a cash/finance, PPA  or DIY sale, and reps should be well versed to communicate the benefits of each deal type in order to close these customers. Closers will be compensated in a base + commission structure to be discussed during the interview process. A successful candidate will have experience as a top solar salesperson and will be self-motivated to close deals and serve customers. 


This is a full-time position located in our office at 578 Timpanogos Circle, Building G Ste 2100 in Orem, Utah. This person will report to our Vice President of Sales Operations. 


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Qualify new sales opportunities through inbound lead follow-up and outbound calls, emails, and text messaging
  • Educate potential customers on the benefits of solar energy solutions and why Project Solar is their best option 
  • Conduct virtual and phone consultations to understand customers' energy consumption patterns and provide tailored solutions
  • Prepare and present quotes, proposals, and contracts to prospective customers
  • Provide technical information about solar power, solar systems, equipment, and services to potential customers
  • Follow up with leads to ensure timely progression through the sales pipeline
  • Maintain accurate records of interactions with leads and customers in Hubspot
  • Provide excellent customer service and support throughout the sales process.


REQUIREMENTS:


  • Proven experience in hitting or exceeding sales targets in an inside or outside sales position, specifically in the solar industry
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly and effectively over the phone and by email
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport and establish trust with customers
  • Self-motivated and target-driven with a demonstrated ability to meet and exceed sales quotas
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and responsibilities
  • Proficiency in Hubspot preferred
  • Must be based In Utah. Will work a mix of 8 am-5 pm and 1-9 pm shifts
