We are a Marine OEM startup in Elkhart County, Indiana.

 

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a 3D Modeler at Marine OEM in Elkhart, IN. The 3D Modeler will be responsible for creating and designing 3D models for marine products. They will collaborate with the design and engineering teams to develop visual concepts and produce detailed drawings.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Draft multi-view 2-dimensional prints and create 3-dimensional models
  • Works closely with industrial designers and engineers to create robust engineering documentation of product designs
  • Works closely with manufacturing and quality teams to support work instructions and control plans
  • Develops and maintains prints and related engineering documentation for new product
  • Manages ECN process
  • Assists with BOM development in engineering documentation
  • Maintain and organize drawing file system
  • Validate all necessary documentation such as engineering prints and manufacturing documentation are complete prior to product launch
  • Communicate with internal customers and suppliers during product development
  • Perform other related duties

 

Skills & Knowledge

  • Requires minimum 2 years related experience. Manufacturing design preferred.
  • Highly skilled with SolidWorks
  • Basic knowledge of Rhino and AutoCad desired
  • SolidWorks PDM experience desired
  • Experience in producing detailed mechanical designs
  • Familiar with Engineering change management process
  • Familiar with BOM development and process within SolidWorks
  • Experience with 3D printing and other additive manufacturing processes preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office applications
  • Familiarity with fabrication, casting, molding manufacturing processes
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Ability to be effective with limited supervision

Desire to listen and embodies a learning mindset

Requires prolonged periods of sitting/standing at a desk and working on a computer
