Responsibilities

· Coordinate with the superintendent and/or foreman to ensure all job schedules and productions are met timely.

· Oversee the estimating process for construction projects, ensuring accurate and timely completion of bids.

· Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to determine scope of work and prepare cost estimates.

· Collect quotes from vendors and subcontractors to gather necessary information for bid preparation.

· Utilize estimating software, such as B2W and On Center to create detailed cost breakdowns and proposals.

· Analyze project requirements and develop strategies to optimize costs while maintaining quality standards.

· Conduct site visits and inspections to assess project conditions and identify potential risks or challenges.

· Prepare quantity takeoffs, bid estimates, pre-bid documentation, and attend bid openings.

· Review and coordinate with staff all fully executed contracts.

· Create subcontracts or POs for any projects awarded.

· Create timelines and job schedules.

· Attend all necessary meetings, including pre-construction, construction, and closeout.

· Collect daily quantities and share with staff for billing and payment purposes.

· Complete all closeout documents required per job specifications.

· Monitor workflow calendar to alleviate holes in the schedule.

Requirements

· Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field (preferred).

· Proven experience in construction estimating or related role.

· Strong knowledge of construction industry practices, materials, and methods.

· Proficiency in the use of estimating software such as On Center, HeavyBid, B2W and similar programs.

· Experience with project management and the use of project management software.

· Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex project documents and specifications.

· Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable contracts with subcontractors, and suppliers.

· Ability to build effective working relationships with internal teams and clients.

· Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in cost estimation processes to include managing the project for maximum profit.

· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
