Position Summary

The Bilingual Domestic Violence Case Manager provides comprehensive, community-based case management and crisis intervention services to survivors of domestic violence, sexual violence, and human trafficking. Utilizing a trauma-informed and culturally responsive model of care, this role ensures effective support and resource connection for a diverse base of survivors. The Case Manager also delivers mobile services, extending support throughout Summit and Medina counties to meet survivors wherever they are.

Job Description

Required Education, Experience and Qualifications

  • Four-year degree in social work, child development, criminal justice, or related field. LSW highly preferred.
  • Bilingual abilities (Spanish/English) to effectively communicate and provide support to a diverse client base.
  • Prior experience in victim advocacy and/or case management to individuals impacted by trauma.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Empathy, compassion, knowledge of trauma-informed care, and active listening skills are essential.
  • Maintain valid Ohio driver’s license and ability to meet agency requirements for driving insurability.
  • Must be able to meet agency requirements for criminal background check (Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigations and Federal Bureau of Investigations).

Role and Responsibilities

  • Provide confidential case management services, crisis intervention, and emotional support to survivors and their children utilizing a trauma-informed and culturally responsive approach, including mobile service delivery to ensure accessibility and support throughout Summit and Medina counties.
  • Conduct and complete thorough case management needs assessments to identify and address the specific needs of survivors and their families, including mental health needs, basic needs (such as food, clothing, and shelter), physical health needs, educational needs, parenting support, employment and financial stability, legal assistance, and access to community resources.
  • Collaborate with survivors to create individualized case plans for stability and sustainability
  • Monitor case plan progress and document progress after each meeting in compliance with program procedures.
  • Assist survivors with shelter and housing options, community resources, employment, and mental/emotional health resources.
  • Utilize skills in crisis intervention, de-escalation, conflict resolution, and safety planning.
  • Provide shelter coverage when requested to Maintain a safe, supportive environment for survivors residing in the shelter.
  • Works cooperatively with other agency staff and/or external providers for coordination of services when appropriate.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Completes annual training requirements for continued education as required by agency procedures.
  • Represent Hope and Healing Survivor Resource Center by participating in community activities, coalitions and taskforce groups as requested or assigned by supervisor.
  • Adheres to Service Excellence standards.
  • Complies with agency policies and procedures, federal and state requirements, and educational/certification/registry requirements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Work environment: This position will be in a facility with victims of domestic violence or sexual assault. In addition to interaction with the survivors, the employee may have interactions with families of these individuals, the assailants and law enforcement.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

  • This is a full-time, non-exempt position.
  • Schedule is flexible to meet the needs of clients. Evenings and weekends may be required.
  • Provide mobile services to survivors, delivering support and resources throughout Summit and Medina Counties.
