Position: Program Director Status: Full-Time/Salaried/Exempt

Department: Programs

Job Summary:

The Program Director is responsible for the care, training, safety and supervision of the recipients of Harbor House services and programs. The Program Director develops, monitors, and evaluates program functions; oversees clinical staff, program/treatment goals. The Program Director is responsible for directing the supervision of the Program Direct Support Professionals, Other Program Staff, and Program Volunteers delivering services to both recipients and non-recipients of the Medicaid waivers.

 

This position reports to the Chief Operations Officer (COO).

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Serves as a member of the Program Committee of the Board of Directors, and attend monthly Program Coalition meetings.

  • Assist the Program Director & Senior Program Director in the education of staff to be able to identify occurrences that require agency to complete Incident Reports and Follow-ups.

  • Oversees all areas of the programs in order to provide services as stated in established policies and standards that meet the requirements of applicable Federal and State regulations.

  • Provides assistance as necessary to participant families / caregivers when requested, or, when the need is identified.

  • Provides management and leadership in complex situations to facilitate open, respectful conflict resolution and ethical decision-making.

  • Maintains updated knowledge of programs to ensure ongoing programming related to the organization.

  • Identifies, recommends and implements processes and systems to improve and streamline processes and use of resources and materials.

  • Establishes and administers the departments budgets.

  • Establishes metrics, guidelines and standard by which the departments efficiency and effectiveness can be evaluated; identifies opportunities for improvement.

  • Cultivate and maintain working relationships within departments.

  • Meets with other departments to provide updates on programs-related issues.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Human Services or related field required.

  • At least three in position providing direct support for programs with persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

  • Must have driver’s license and maintain required level of insurance coverage required by company.

  • Must be able to acquire and maintain CPR and First Aid Certification.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
