Snackco of America is a small to mid-sized snack manufacturing plant. We are seeking a talented quality assurance manager to implement our BRC AA rated quality system and ensuring minimal product loss. .

Job Summary:

Reporting to the CEO of our Logan, UT manufacturing facility, you will ensure food safety and quality of all products produced in the plant. You will ensure specifications are defined and communicated while performing inspections of processes, employee training, compliance with applicable food laws and regulations and maintaing plant HACCP plans to regulatory compliance. You will participate in resolving customer complaints and are an integral part of plant leadership. You will provide support to Sale and operations on customer isues and questions related to quality.

 

What will you do?

  1. Ensure all plant personnel adhere to good manufacturing practices(GMP) through daily walk throughs and regular trainings.
  2. Work with Operations and Maintenance to lead Food Safety and Quality ownership to the floor.
  3. Mentor subordinates in the performance of their duties.
  4. Host audits for FDA, USDA, Kosher, BRC, GFCO, customer site visits/audits, etc.
  5. Utilize industry resources and updates to locate any needed improvements to our HACCP Plan and implement them with the coordination of the Quality and Safety Group.
  6. ​​​Recognize any errors in quality reporting information for control points and minimize customer complaints by quarantining product that quality teams determines to be out of spec.
  7. Manage the quality schedule tasks lists to verify all quality activities are being completed according to established timelines.
  8. Document and report to senior management on complaint or quality deviation trends.
  9. Work in coordination with the Sales Manager to respond to customer complaints.
  10. Complete CAPA's, ensure implementation of preventative actions, and evaluate efficacy of the meassures. Communicate these measures to Quality and Safety Group.
  11. Meet with direct reports to evaluate their performance and determine with HR need for raises, discipline, etc.
  12. Oversee product quality with regards to new product implementation and introduction into market.

What you need?

  1. B.S. in biology, food science, r other related program( sufficient work experience in food manufacturing can substitite)
  2. PCQI and FDQI certified (Can be obtained upon employment)
  3. 3+ years of related QA leadership experience
  4. Skills in monitoring and measurement of process control, auditing, manufacturing of food products, sanitation process, knowledge of HACCP, SSOP regulations, skills in team leadership, and root cause analysis
  5. Desire to work with a small to midsized company
