Position Overview: We are seeking Warehouse Managers-in-Training (MIT) who will participate in comprehensive training program designed to fast-track individuals into management-level positions within the logistics industry. This position is part of the DoD SkillBridge program, and we welcome transitioning service members who meet the qualifications below. 
The ideal candidates will have a strong willingness to learn, be tech-savvy, and possess leadership experience to eventually manage a team effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of warehouse staff, with a focus on the loading process at the end of each day, leveraging leadership and organizational skills developed during military service.
  • Ensure efficient and accurate processing, packing, and shipping of orders, including overseeing quality control measures.
  • Implement and maintain inventory control procedures while using computer systems to track inventory and manage shipments.
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate warehouse associates, ensuring they adhere to proper techniques for building pallets and handling specialty items.
  • Establish and enforce warehouse standards, including maintaining consistent pallet heights, punctuality, proper break management, and the correct use of uniforms and safety gear.
  • Monitor and manage workflow to meet deadlines, ensuring tasks are performed efficiently and correctly while avoiding common issues.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and clear workspace, particularly in the dock area, and oversee break schedules.
  • Identify and mentor motivated employees, fostering teamwork and ensuring effective contributions from the team.
  • Cross-train with various teams within the warehouse to gain comprehensive knowledge of all positions, preparing for a future managerial role overseeing all aspects of warehouse operations.

Qualifications:

  • Proven warehouse experience in a leadership or supervisory role; military experience in logistics, supply chain management, or related fields is highly regarded.
  • Basic computer skills; ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software systems.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and maintain a focus on quality and efficiency.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts as needed and a strong commitment to learning and development in the logistics industry.
