Key Areas of Responsibility:

This versatile communications specialist role encompasses media relations, social media management, event planning, and analytics to support the organization’s global communication efforts. The ideal candidate will be a skilled communicator, project manager, and data analyst capable of juggling diverse tasks and collaborating across teams.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Media & Public Relations

  • Field & manage media inquiries directed to the PR inbox.
  • Ensure Media requests get assigned to the appropriate people for response or respond based on agreed upon messaging.
  • Manage Media Materials and Assets as needed.
  • Collaborate with the global communications team on initiatives, campaigns, and content development, ensuring consistency across regions.

Social Media Management

  • Engage with audiences across various social media platforms, responding to comments, questions, and direct messages in a timely and on-brand manner.
  • Create and schedule social media posts promoting news, initiatives, and events.

  • Monitor community sentiment and identify potential issues or risks for escalation.
  • Manage Digital Press Room on Website

Event Planning & Awards

  • Provide logistical and communications support for awards events, including venue coordination, guest communications, and materials development.
  • Collaborate with the awards committee on event execution, program development, and winner communications.
  • Support with Awards Event as needed.

Analytics and Reporting

  • Gather data from social media, media outreach, and website traffic.
  • Develop clear and insightful analytics reports to measure the effectiveness of communication efforts and guide future strategies.
  • Build out monthly analytics performance documentation and turn it in to CMO for monthly reporting.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, computer science, or a related field.
  • 2-3 years’ experience in project management
  • Excellent writing, reporting, proofreading, and editing skills, including strong knowledge of AP Style.
  • Proficient in the use of marketing automation platforms and the ability to extract and interpret data from analytics tools.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies and the ability to manage timelines and budget effectively.
  • Proven ability to consistently meet tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational skills and high level of attention to detail.
  • Proactive in identifying problems and developing creative, efficient solutions.
  • Excellent attitude, written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with global and local teams and document processes.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and Google Docs and Sheets. 

ADA Specifications:

This position is in Orlando, Florida, headquarters office with occasional domestic travel to attend and participate in select IAAPA events. The position requires you to be in an office at least 3 days a week with a preference for 4 days a week and 1-day remote work.
