Attorney Associate

Law Firm based in Mechanicsburg Pennsylvania looking for an Associate Attorney to join their team. Defense practices with health care, employment, corporate, transactional, estate planning and Worker's Compensation. They set high standards for maintaining excellence in providing legal services to their clients, representing clients in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Maryland. Salary $80 - $95K

Responsibilities of Attorney Associate:

·         The candidate will work with attorneys in the firm's health care and litigation practices.

·         Drafting Legal Documents:

o   Prepare complaints, petitions, motions, briefs and discovery and responses thereto. Ensure accuracy, compliance, and alignment with clients' intentions.

o   Represent clients in court proceedings, including trials, hearing and depositions.

·         Health Care Collections:

o   Provide guidance to clients on collection strategies and likelihood of recovery.

o   Assert creditor rights and estate and bankruptcy matters.

o   File suit to recover outstanding balances before Magisterial District Justices and Court of Common Pleas. Provide support to clients and Medical Assistance eligibility process.

o   Pursue guardianship for residents of long-term living communities.

·         Health Care Regulatory:

o   Assist in preparation of licensure applications and enrollment and Medicare and Medicaid programs. Assist clients in responding to surveys by administrative agencies.

o   Provide litigation services to clients involved in disputes.

o   Collaboration and Communication:

o   Work closely with senior attorneys, paralegals, and clients. Communicate legal advice clearly and empathetically.

o   Provide regular updates to clients.

·         Legal Research and Analysis:

o   Stay informed about changes in law affecting the firm's clients.

o   Analyze complex legal issues related to estates and trusts.

o   Familiarity with WestLaw.

Qualifications of Attorney Associate:

·         Juris Doctor (JD) Degree

·         Completion of an accredited law school program. Admission to practice law in PA. Preference given to admission to practice in multiple mid-Atlantic jurisdictions.

·         Experience Ideally, 2-5 years of experience in litigation.

·         Experience with health care collections is a plus, but not necessary.

·         Experience with healthcare regulatory matters is a plus but not necessary.

·         Attention to Detail

·         Precision in drafting legal documents.

·         Thoroughness in analyzing client situations.

·         Communication Skills

·         Ability to explain legal concepts to clients in a clear manner.
