CKS Packaging, Inc. is currently seeking an Assistant Production Manager with hands-on experience managing employees. Knowledge of plastic extrusion/blow molding/injection molding processes helpful, but not required. We are looking for a great coach, trainer, and motivator.
Hours:
This will be a 1st Shift position with the flexibility to come in on an off shift when needed.

Job Requirements
The Assistant Production Manager supports the Production Manager in overseeing the production process, coordinating all activities, and ensuring efficient and effective production operations. This role involves managing resources, optimizing workflow, and maintaining quality standards to meet production targets and deadlines.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, & Requirements:
- Assist in developing and implementing production schedules to meet production goals.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure timely availability of materials and resources.
- Monitor production timelines and adjust schedules as necessary to meet deadlines.
- Supervise and manage production staff, including scheduling shifts and assigning tasks.
- Provide training and support to production employees to enhance their skills and performance.
- Ensure that products meet quality standards and specifications.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of production processes.
- Implement corrective actions to address any quality issues.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and use data to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Promote and enforce a safe working environment by adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Conduct safety training and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
- Investigate and report any workplace accidents or incidents.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the purchasing department for timely procurement of materials.
- Optimize the use of resources to minimize costs and reduce downtime.
- Maintain accurate records of production activities and inventory.
- Collaborate with the Production Manager and other departments to align production activities with overall business goals.
- Communicate production status, issues, and updates to relevant stakeholders.
- Address and resolve any production-related problems promptly.
- Prepare and present regular production reports to the Production Manager.
- Analyze production data and provide insights for strategic decision-making.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a production or manufacturing environment, with at least 3-5 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of production management principles, practices, and techniques.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Proficient in using production management software and tools.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and practices.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
