General Responsibility:

The Human Resources Generalist facilitates the administrative processes and services that support various functional areas within Human Resources. Administrative tasks including managing and overseeing records and generating reports.

Significant Duties:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for all injuries, first aid, and recordable.
  • Responsible for collecting investigation report(s), including employee, witness, and Foreman statements.
  • Prepares, and files workers compensation reports for accidents and injuries as required by OSHA.
  • Manages full scope of all medical only and indemnity claims, including but not limited to managing referral process, transfer of care, and updating follow up care for injured worker(s).
  • Responsible for reviewing and updating the workers compensation log, OSHA 300, and OSHA 300A.
  • Work in partnership with HR Coordinator in following up with new hires background concerns.
  • Responsible for reviewing employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Oversee the investigation and gathering of appropriate documentation for all Non-Industrial injuries. Ensure that appropriate medical release is on hand prior to employee returning to work.
  • Under the direction of the Human Resources Manager compiles and responds to all workers’ compensation issues that arise for possible fraud claims
  • Draft correspondence and communications as needed for employees, including LOA letters for employees on TTD.
  • File personnel records, confidential, and workers compensation related documents in the appropriate employees file.
  • Believes in and champions 20/20’s core values and inspires others to do the same.
  • Other Duties as assigned

Skills and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two or more years of HR Assistant experience, preferably knowledge in construction practices and procedures
  • Bilingual, ability to read, write, and speak Spanish is required.
  • Ability to handle a high volume, fast paced work environment.
  • Ability to understand and analyze data to make decisions
  • Strong planning and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to provide instruction in a clear and concise manner and follow up when necessary.
  • Excellent communication skills required, both written and verbal
  • Detail oriented ability to prioritize with strong organization skills
  • Must be able to establish and maintain good working relationships with many different people inside and outside of the company.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Uses independent judgment and discretion in prioritizing and managing situations.
  • Ability to adapt to changing business needs

Physical Requirements:

The position of Human Resources Generalist requires that you are able to lift objects that weight up to 15 pounds, squat, kneel, twist, bend, and work above head and below waist. Ability to sit long periods, stand, walk, climb stairs and use of hands, fingers, wrists, and arms.
