POSITION: Service Technician Position

Position Title: Service Technician – Electronic Security

Position Type: Exempt

Reports To: Service Manager

A Service Technician candidate must have an in-depth knowledge and understanding of Access Control and CCTV Surveillance Systems. Knowledge of Door Lock/Exit Equipment; Magnetic Locks, Door Strikes, Touch Door Release Bars, Mechanical Door Release Bars, REX Motion, Exit Button and Key Override Switches and related power supplies.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

  • Complete and submit all forms and reports in a professional and timely manner.
  • Prompt communication with the Service Manager
  • Provide on-call phone, remote and on-site support to service call requests and system installations.
  • Maintain company vehicle.
  • Maintain vehicle inventory.
  • Maintain proper operation of tools required for work performed.
  • Assist Install team as needed.

 

REQUIREMENTS

· 3 years of experience with Installation and Service of:

  • Card Access Control Systems
  • Door Lock/Exit Hardware
  • CCTV Surveillance Systems

· Must possess a willingness to grow and learn installation techniques as well as new product lines.

  • Must be able to legally operate a motor vehicle, and willing to travel as customer or company needs dictate.
  • Strong sense of urgency to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, good verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to function as a key member within a team environment.
  • Motivated individual with good problem-solving skills
  • Excellent customer service skills

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Sitting and/or standing for extended periods of time.
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, power tools, etc.
  • Stand, walk, stoop, kneel, balance, crouch, or crawl for extended periods of time in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to regularly transport and lift various types of ladders.
  • Hearing and vision within normal range

 

EDUCATION

  • Successful candidates must possess a high school diploma.
  • Must be able to communicate verbally and written in the English language.
