Job DescriptionJob Description

As a Budget & Housing Coach, you will:

  • Assess Needs: Determine clients' financial management needs.
  • Screening: Perform initial client screenings.
  • Program Knowledge: Understand HUD, MSHDA, FSS, IDA, and related programs.
  • Public Relations: Build and maintain positive community relations.
  • Events: Attend special sessions and staff meetings.
  • Promotion: Use media to promote programs.
  • Reporting: Prepare and submit reports.
  • Other Tasks: Perform additional duties as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Assessment: Evaluate clients' financial situations and develop personalized financial plans.
  • Housing Assistance: Help clients find and secure affordable housing; guide them through housing options and resources.
  • Education and Counseling: Educate clients on budgeting, saving, credit management, and debt reduction. Provide ongoing counseling and support.
  • Advocacy and Support: Advocate for clients and connect them with additional resources and support services.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records and prepare necessary reports.
  • Public Relations and Promotion: Promote services through community outreach and media channels; attend events to build relationships.

Qualifications:

  • Degree: Bachelor’s in Human Services or a related field.
  • Certification: HUD Certified.
  • Experience: Experience with low-income or at-risk individuals.
  • Skills: Excellent communication, detail-oriented, and organizational skills.
  • Traits: Self-motivated and proactive.
