Job DescriptionJob Description

We are currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Field Service Mechanic to join our team at Atlantic Graphic Systems. The Field Service Mechanic will be responsible for installing, maintaining, customer training, bindery equipment manufacturing, repairing printing equipment and providing exceptional customer service. The Field Service Mechanic will work directly with clients to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and technical issues, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum client satisfaction. The ideal candidate should have a strong mechanical and technical background, excellent problem-solving and time management skills, and a customer-centered approach.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Install, calibrate, test run and train on printing and bindery equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections on printing and bindery equipment to ensure optimal performance to prevent breakdowns.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues and malfunctions, on-site, by troubleshooting mechanical and electronic components.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their specific printing requirements and provide appropriate recommendations and solutions.
  • Keep accurate records of service calls, repairs, and maintenance activities.
  • Coordinate with the service team to prioritize and schedule service requests, ensuring timely and efficient resolution.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines while performing job duties.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring prompt and professional communication with clients throughout the service process.
  • Travel requirements are generally local; however, periodic overnight travel is required for remote service calls, installations, and equipment training.

 

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications or a degree in a related field is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a Field Service Mechanic, preferably in the printing, automotive, electrical, and maintenance industry or a similar field.
  • Proficient in diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think critically and find effective solutions.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients and team members.
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple service requests and prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to work independently without constant supervision and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
