Position Title: Shipping, Receiving & Warehouse Manager

Job Summary: The Shipping, Receiving & Warehouse Manager will oversee and coordinate the daily operations related to shipping, receiving, and warehouse management. This role is responsible for ensuring that all incoming and outgoing shipments are handled efficiently, accurately, and on time. The manager will supervise one driver and one warehouse worker, ensuring that delivery routes are optimized for cost and time efficiency while also maintaining a well-organized warehouse. Additionally, the manager will serve as a backup secondary driver when needed to support the team.

Key Responsibilities:

1.     Delivery and Scheduling Management:

  • Attend scheduling meetings, aligning delivery schedules with overall production plans.
  • Develop and manage daily delivery schedules, optimizing driver routes for maximum efficiency.
  • Supervise and provide leadership to drivers, ensuring adherence to company policies and safety standards.

2.     Shipping and Receiving:

  • Execute deliveries and pick-ups from customers/vendors within the metro area as needed.
  • Assist with the preparation of orders for shipment, including loading trucks using hand jacks and wrapping pallets.
  • Plan and execute delivery routes that are both cost-effective and time-efficient.
  • Verify delivery receipts for accuracy, ensuring all relevant details such as job numbers, counts, descriptions, carriers, weights, and destinations are correct.
  • Ensure that each shipment is accompanied by the appropriate Delivery Ticket.

3.     Warehouse Management:

  • Organize and maintain warehouse rack storage systems, ensuring efficient use of space.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts, inventory checks, and maintain logs and reports to ensure accurate inventory management.
  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance checks on forklifts, vehicles, and other warehouse equipment.

4.     Inventory Management:

  • Assist in counting and packaging orders for shipment.
  • Follow proper receiving procedures, ensuring that all incoming goods are accurately logged and stored.
  • Proactively locate and prepare items on the next day’s shipping list to ensure timely dispatch.

Qualifications:

1.     Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certifications in logistics, warehouse management, or a related field is a plus.  Printing Industry experience a plus.
  • Proven experience with inventory management software, shipping systems (UPS, FedEx, USPS), and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience in importing Excel distribution lists into shipping systems is highly desirable.
  • Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record (no moving violations in the last 30 months).

2.     Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks under pressure.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to follow instructions and provide clear direction to team members.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in using warehouse equipment, including pallet jacks and forklifts.

Physical Demands:

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands for tasks such as loading/unloading and operating equipment.
  • Occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Must be able to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds regularly.

Work Environment:

  • Primarily based in shipping and receiving docks and warehouse environments.
  • Regular use of shipping office equipped with inventory and shipping software.
  • Operation of pallet jacks, forklifts, and other warehouse equipment as needed.
  • Driving company vehicles (truck or van) for deliveries and pick-ups.
