Material Handler/Receiving Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Material Handler/Receiving Specialist to manage the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials within our company. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, a solid understanding of inventory management, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receiving and Inspection: Receive incoming shipments, inspect materials for accuracy, damage, and quality, and verify the items against purchase orders or packing lists.
- Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory records, update the inventory management system, and ensure proper storage and organization of materials.
- Shipping and Distribution: Prepare materials for shipping, including packaging and labeling, and coordinate with shipping carriers to ensure timely delivery.
- Documentation: Complete and maintain all necessary documentation, including receiving reports, shipping documents, and inventory logs.
- Safety and Compliance: Adhere to safety procedures and company policies, and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with suppliers, vendors, and internal departments to resolve any discrepancies or issues.
- Maintenance: Keep the warehouse or receiving area clean and organized, and perform regular maintenance on equipment as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in logistics or supply chain management is a plus.
- Previous experience in material handling, receiving, or inventory management preferred.
- Basic knowledge of warehouse management systems and inventory control.
- Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds and operate forklifts or other material handling equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Good communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with Google Suite is a plus.
Working Conditions:
- Monday-Friday with overtime during peak seasons.
- Ability to lift and move heavy materials.
