The Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for all activities involved in maintaining the cleanliness and food-safe environment of the processing facility, surrounding area, and equipment. Coordinates, motivates, and develops Sanitation staff to achieve outstanding sanitation results. Directly reports to FSQA Supervisor (and General Manager in some occasions) and receives direction concerning sanitation activities.

Primary Responsibilities:
1. Leads by example by performing cleaning in accordance with established guidelines and specifications, and ensures equipment is operational for production runs.
2. Performs and oversees sanitation of all processing lines and peripheral equipment.
3. Oversees the completion of daily, weekly, monthly, etc. activities per the Master Sanitation Schedule.
4. Promotes a safe work environment through knowledge of the sanitation program and commitment to a safe workplace for all. Ensures that staff are informed of corporate safety requirements and that safety is a priority in daily functions.
5. Directs and coordinates all sanitation activities within the processing facility, as well as the grounds surrounding the processing plant.
6. Implements all GMP and HACCP procedures that relate to cleanliness, food safety, food defense, and pest control with the facility. Supervises sanitation team to ensure that all procedures are followed.
7. Creates maintenance work orders as needed.
8. Coordinates, leads, motivates, and develops sanitation personnel to achieve outstanding manufacturing and sanitation results. Effectively conducts team meetings. Provides a satisfying and rewarding work environment for employees.
9. Creates and adjusts SSOPs.
10. Effectively communicates organizational and/or policy changes.
11. Trains sanitation personnel in best practices, safety, SDS information, and the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment.
12. Conducts the ATP swabs and implements corrective actions as needed.
13. Assists the FSQA supervisor with any environmental swab issues.
14. As part of the plant leadership team, provides excellent communication and partnership with the Quality Assurance and Production departments.
15. Provides direct supervision over staff (to include discretionary authority) to determine methods of work; plan, assign, and direct the work; and, in coordination with General Manager, Sr. Food Safety & QA Manager, and Corporate Policy.
16. Recommends personnel actions (performance reviews, discipline, discharge, etc.). Emphasis is placed on maintaining staffing at the appropriate levels to operate at peak efficiency and in developing continuity in key positions. Performs a 30-60-90 day targeted review with employees to ensure they are receiving proper training and performing as needed.
17. Performing daily pre-inspections of the manufacturing facility and reporting any irregularities.
18. Monitoring the use of cleaning chemicals.
19. Coordinating the services of contractors and external cleaning crews.
20. Performs related duties as required. Related duties are duties that may not be specifically listed in the Position Description but are within the general occupational series and responsibility level typically associated with the employee’s classification of work.
Requirements:
1. Ability to read and interpret documents.
2. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to use a computer.
3. Must be fluent in English (and Spanish).
4. Must have at least 2 years of experience in food manufacturing/sanitation
5. Working knowledge of processing, food safety regulations, OSHA guidelines, GMP and HACCP preferred
6. Ability to work extended shifts (holiday, weekend and/or extended) as business need requires
7. Ability to work in cold/ humid or hot/ dusty environments as needed
8. Ability to stand and move through facility throughout entire shift. Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs.
