PURPOSE OF POSITION:   

Primary responsibilities for this position include; but are not limited to, receiving, shipping, storage, picking orders, supplying/supporting production areas, and organizing & accounting for inventory.

PRIMARY DUTIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

  • Stock & label incoming parts, products, or supplies into their proper inventory location
  • Visually monitor inventory levels and communicate low levels to buyers, schedulers, and others as necessary.
  • Review daily customer orders and production Jobs. Pick parts and complete inventory transactions to receive and issue inventory as required.
  • Print and manage Polar Pump Sales Order shipping schedule.
  • Receive RMA customer pump returns and relocation to repair area.
  • Manage Supplier quality issue returns with Buyers.
  • Participate in cycle count program and year-end Physical Inventory process.
  • Receive, unload, unpack, and examine incoming and outgoing shipments.  Inspects goods for shipping damage and reports damaged items.  Verify contents and counts, transacts receipts and records shortages against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
  • Review method of shipment, consolidates shipments where possible, and may make shipping arrangements as required.
  • Prepare, Package, and Protect pumps & parts for customer & intercompany transfer shipments. Design, fabricate and modify shipping skids and boxes to provide adequate protection/support during transit.
  • Examine outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet sales order requirements and transacts shipment in system. Complete UPS, FedEx and DHL registers, manual or computerized.
  • Monitor and Maintain inventory of all stockroom & shipping materials and supplies. Place Purchase order requisitions as needed.
  • Operate fork truck, hand truck or other mechanical lifting devices, to move, convey, or hoist shipments from truck or dock to storage or work area.
  • Contact customers & brokers to arrange shipping to meet customer needs via phone, email or computer.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Daily emptying of wastebaskets, sweep area and transport trash and waste to the dumpsters.
  • Actively participates in continuous improvement through individual process changes and participation on cross-functional improvement teams.
  • Establish and modify Quality Management System procedures and work instruction to ensure the efficient operation of the function
