General Position Summary:

This position reports to the shift Production Supervisor.  The Assistant Production supervisor supports the Production Supervisor in managing the performance of the shift operation throughout the shift. The Assistant Production Supervisor will deputize for the Production Supervisor when needed. Working with Maintenance, QC, HR/Safety and other shifts to achieve output expectations.


Essential Job Functions

Operations Management and Supervising

  • Participates in the interviewing and hiring of production personnel.
  • Assists Production Supervisor in leading and motivating employees.
  • Assists in identifying training needs and facilitates the needed training for production crew.
  • Supports the Production Supervisor in ensuring all employees are working in a safe manner and have the required job training.
  • Follows a production schedule and works with production leads to ensure efficient running.
  • Oversees training of employees in how to operate production equipment.
  • Summarizes paperwork and any issues in daily production and reports to the Production supervisor
  • Liaises with
    • Maintenance department for a machinery issue/concern
    • QC department for a quality issue/concern
    • HR/safety department for a HR/Safety issue/concern
  • Ensures employees are following correct SOP and GMP procedures.
  • Assists in scheduling personnel and ensuring adequate resources are available to meet schedule.
  • Maintains 5S standards.
  • Identifies opportunities related to safety or improving performance.
  • Deputizes for the Production Supervisor when required

 

Other & Miscellaneous

  • Seeks constant improvement, more efficient and less expensive ways and means in work processes.
  • Performs special projects and other miscellaneous duties as assigned by the Production Supervisor
  • Maintains high ethical standards in the workplace.
  • Reports all irregular issues and problems to management for solution.
  • Maintains good communication with co-workers and outside contacts.
  • Complies with all company policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe working area.


Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of previous related work experience in Food Manufacturing Production and Sanitation
  • 3 years of experience in a leadership role
  • Flexibility in working hours, available for weekends as volume dictates
  • Understanding of Lean manufacturing concepts
  • High School diploma or GED
  • The ability to use Word, Excel and Outlook


Schedule - Hiring for all three shifts
Monday - Saturday

1st Shift: 6am - 2:30pm

2nd Shift: 2pm - 10:30pm

3rd Shift: 10pm - 6:30am
