Overview

  • The tool room clerk/technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, issuing, and tracking tools and equipment within the organization.
  • The primary duties include managing inventory, ensuring tools are in good condition, and coordinating with various departments to ensure that business needs are met.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure tools are in good working condition; including performing minor repairs of grinders and other power tools.
  • Manage the tool room inventory, including but not limited to receiving, organizing, and issuing tools and equipment.
  • Utilize inventory software to maintain accurate records of tool transactions, including issues, returns, and any maintenance performed.
  • Collaborate with different departments to understand their tool requirements and ensure timely availability.
  • Implement and enforce tool control procedures to prevent loss or damage.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of efficient tool management processes
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal staff, addressing tool-related inquiries and concerns.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized tool room environment for efficient operations.
  • Collaborate with safety team to ensure compliance with safety regulations related to tools and equipment.


Qualifications

  • Proven experience in tool management or a related field in a manufacturing or shop environment.
  • Ability to use computerized inventory systems. Previous Global Shop experience is preferred but not required.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English is required.
  • Knowledge of basic tool maintenance and repair.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy in record-keeping.
  • Customer service skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations related to tools and equipment.
  • Ability to stand or walk, stoop, bend, and reach throughout shift.
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
