Position Summary

Superior Stage Crew, Inc., located in Camarillo, California, is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Full Charge Bookkeeper to manage our company’s financial transactions and ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. This position requires handling all aspects of bookkeeping and accounting functions, including preparing financial reports, managing accounts payable and receivable. Proficiency in QuickBooks Online is essential.

Key Responsibilities

Daily Operations

  • Accounts Payable: Process invoices, payments, and manage vendor relationships.
  • Accounts Receivable: Invoice customers, track payments, and manage collections.
  • Bank Reconciliation: Match bank statements with internal records to ensure accuracy.
  • General Ledger Maintenance: Record all financial transactions in the general ledger, ensuring proper classification and accuracy.
  • Chart of Accounts: Maintain and update the chart of accounts.
  • Debt Management: Ensure required debt payments are made on time.
  • Orderly Accounting Filing System: Preserve an organized and systematic filing system for all accounting records.

Financial Reporting and Analysis

  • Financial Statement Preparation: Create balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data to identify trends and potential issues.
  • Budgeting: Assist in the creation and management of budgets.
  • Variance Reporting: Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management.
  • Corporate Annual Report: Coordinate the preparation of the corporate annual report.
  • Performance Benchmarks: Recommend benchmarks for measuring the performance of company operations.
  • Financial Metrics: Compute and issue financial and operating metrics.
  • Financial Analyses: Provide financial analyses for capital investments, pricing decisions, and other key decisions.

Tax Compliance

  • Income Tax: Assist in the preparation of income tax returns.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Internal Controls: Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets.
  • Software Expertise: Utilize accounting software proficiently, including QuickBooks Online and all Google Workspace software.
  • Communication: Provide financial information and address concerns.
  • Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with financial regulations.
  • Workers' Compensation Insurance Management: Manage and maintain records related to workers' compensation insurance.
  • Audit Coordination: Provide information to external auditors as required.

Qualifications

  • Education: Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
  • Experience: 1-3 years of related bookkeeping or accounting experience.

Certifications

  • Certified Bookkeeper (CB) from the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers (AIPB).
  • QuickBooks Certified User Online certification preferred.

Skills

  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
