Job Description

At Sonoma Federal Credit Union, our member service representatives do more than handle money; they establish and nurture relationships with our valued member/ owners. This will be a rare opportunity to learn the front and back side of banking operations.

Objectives of this Role

  • Serve customers by managing documents, information, and financial transactions successfully and in an organized, efficient, and secure manner
  • Build awareness of new products and services, and identify customer needs
  • Meet and exceed the credit union service standards, greeting and acknowledging each member warmly, and making them feel welcome while complying with credit union procedures and security protocols
  • Work as a team with others to complete daily tasks, demonstrating respect and professionalism, being prompt, and supporting special request as needed

Skills and Qualifications

  • Math and computer proficiencies
  • Cash-handling experience

  • Problem solving and time-management abilities
  • Detail oriented with an investigative nature
  • Successful follow through is paramount
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug test
  • Strong dedication to accuracy and efficiency

Preferred Qualifications

  • · Spanish speaking, a plus.
  • · Skilled and comfortable with product recommendations are preferred.
  • · Tech Savvy, ability to learn multiple software applications would be fantastic.

Job Responsibilities

Duties will include but not limited to:

  • Provide transactional support to our members.
  • Review and reconcile daily reports including ACH and Share Draft exception reports, stop payments, NSF returns, exception returns, returned deposited items.
  • Responsible for managing debit card disputes, claim creation, including adhering to documented procedures and regulatory timeframes for customer notifications and account postings.
  • Receive and processes all types of legal processing request for funds: levies, garnishments, and orders to withhold.
  • Manage annual escheatment (following reporting and remitting instructions based on State of California requirements) of all types of dormant accounts.
  • ATM Settlement and reconciliation.
  • Additional operational duties to be assigned, such as assisting in other areas of the credit union as needed.
