We are excited to announce a future project with the State Government of Fairfax, Virginia, and we are looking to build a team of talented Database Management Specialists. Valid work authorization to work in the USA is required.

Job Summary:

The Database Management Specialist will provide expert services for the enterprise implementation, maintenance, and tuning of databases across UNIX and Windows environments. The role involves developing and supporting enterprise database server architecture, focusing on Oracle RDBMS, SQL databases, and Oracle for SAP. The specialist will monitor and enhance server performance, ensuring optimal database performance through careful tuning of database instance parameters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enterprise Database Server Architecture: Assist in the development and implementation of the enterprise database server architecture.

  • Database Installation and Configuration: Install, configure, and maintain Oracle RDBMS, SQL databases, and related communications software.

  • Performance Monitoring and Tuning: Monitor server performance and fine-tune database instance parameters to achieve maximum performance.

  • Oracle for SAP: Provide specialized support for Oracle databases in SAP environments, including database architecture and optimization.

  • Cross-Platform Expertise: Work within both UNIX and Windows environments, ensuring robust database management across platforms.

Technical Expertise Required:

  1. Oracle Database Administrator

    • Installation, configuration, and maintenance of Oracle RDBMS.
    • Expertise in Oracle communications software.
    • Database instance tuning for optimal performance.

  2. Oracle for SAP Database Architect

    • Design and implement Oracle databases to support SAP environments.
    • Specialized tuning and performance optimization for Oracle in SAP settings.

  3. SQL Database Developer

    • Develop, implement, and maintain SQL databases.
    • Design efficient database queries and stored procedures.
    • Work on database schema development and optimization.

  4. SQL Database Administrator

    • Manage SQL database installation, configuration, and maintenance.
    • Monitor and tune SQL database performance.
    • Ensure high availability and disaster recovery of SQL databases.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in database management, particularly with Oracle and SQL databases.
  • Strong expertise in both UNIX and Windows environments.
  • Specialized knowledge of Oracle RDBMS, especially in SAP environments.
  • Experience in developing enterprise database server architecture.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Valid work authorization to work in the USA.
