Plant Maintenance Engineer

Career Strategy Consultants is seeking a Maintenance Engineer for a large manufacturing client near Gary, IN. This is a full-time permanent position that offers a generous base salary, a lucrative bonus incentive, a full benefits package, and substantial opportunities for growth. Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards. Perform safety, quality, and environmental audits on a timely basis.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot programming and electrical issues.
- Create, modify, and confirm programming logic.
- Analyze blueprints, schematics, and drawings.
- Work with operations, engineering, maintenance, and other technical resources to drive results.
- Directs bargaining unit employees to accomplish work and provides guidance on technical issues.
- Lead for electrical/mechanical projects and jobs during outages.
- Monitor the electrical/mechanical work of external contractors for the purpose of ensuring that projects are satisfactorily completed in a timely manner.
- Respond to emergency situations during and after hours for the purpose of resolving immediate production and safety concerns.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or for the exceptional candidate, a high school diploma with significant commensurate experience.
- Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs, AC/DC drives, and HMI setup, programming, and configuration. – Electrical candidates only.
- Working knowledge of industrial wiring, controls, and instrumentation.
- Able to manage and direct workforce.
- Able to read, troubleshoot and write ladder logic.
- Experience with network protocols such as Ethernet, ControlNet, Profibus, DeviceNet.
- Experience in tuning and calibration of PID loops and control.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electrical Technology Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Three years of production or maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Successful track record working with a represented workforce in a heavy industrial setting.
- Knowledge of safety and health policies including key components of the OSHA regulations.
