Salary:
$115,000-$130,000
This position is eligible for participation in the Signode annual bonus program, targeting 10% of the base salary.
Position Overview
The Maintenance Engineer Manager will work collaboratively with various leaders within the organization and external vendors to ensure that plant equipment and facilities are maintained to the highest standards. This role will also oversee reliability enhancement initiatives and projects aimed at achieving set performance metrics.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the maintenance team, ensuring effective execution of machine maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and continuous improvement of equipment and operational practices.
- Prioritize, develop, and implement solutions to enhance equipment reliability, efficiency, and effectiveness, ensuring optimal facility and equipment maintenance.
- Conduct root cause analysis of equipment failures.
- Coordinate and execute preventive maintenance activities, guiding peers to optimize production, quality, and safety while minimizing costs, energy consumption, and waste in line with corporate policies and health/safety regulations.
- Organize and oversee internal safety inspections, addressing deficiencies and recommendations.
- Ensure facilities and grounds comply with relevant regulations and standards.
- Assess long-term needs concerning major projects and property improvements.
- Supervise corrective and preventive maintenance in accordance with operational procedures and financial considerations.
- Establish contacts and procedures for timely repairs of frequently malfunctioning equipment.
- Secure bids for major equipment and recommend purchases for replacements or new equipment.
- Provide training to staff on various safety and maintenance topics, including effective use of maintenance logs and routine maintenance specific to the facility.
- Develop policies and procedures related to maintenance and safety.
- Participate in annual budget preparation concerning the maintenance and safety of facilities, grounds, and equipment.
- Maintain the Preventative Maintenance program for all major equipment as specified by the Plant Manager.
- Manage labor costs and determine whether tasks should be completed in-house or outsourced, considering the competencies of the maintenance staff.
- Initiate the procurement of all repairs and maintenance components, including outsourced fabrication and contract labor.
- Maintain accurate inventories of replacement and repair parts.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education:
A college degree in Engineering or a Business-related field is required.
Experience:
5 years of supervisory experience is required.
5 years of maintenance or engineering experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment is required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office is essential.
Experience in estimating maintenance and repair costs is necessary.
