Position Overview:

The Maintenance Engineer Manager will work closely with various leaders within the organization and external vendors to ensure that plant equipment and facilities are maintained to the highest standards. This role is pivotal in managing reliability enhancement initiatives and projects aimed at meeting established performance metrics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the maintenance team to ensure effective completion of machine maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and continuous improvement of equipment and operational practices.
  • Develop and implement solutions to enhance equipment reliability, efficiency, and effectiveness, ensuring optimal maintenance of facilities and equipment.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of equipment failures.
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance activities and provide guidance to peers to optimize production, quality, and safety while minimizing costs and waste.
  • Organize and execute internal safety inspections, addressing deficiencies and recommendations.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards for facilities and grounds maintenance.
  • Assess long-term needs concerning major projects and property improvements.
  • Supervise corrective and preventative maintenance in accordance with operational procedures and financial considerations.
  • Establish procedures for timely repairs of frequently failing equipment.
  • Evaluate major equipment bids and make recommendations for purchases of replacements or new equipment.
  • Provide training to staff on various safety and maintenance topics, including effective use of maintenance logs and routine maintenance practices.
  • Develop policies and procedures related to maintenance and safety protocols.
  • Participate in the annual budget preparation concerning the maintenance of facilities, grounds, and equipment.
  • Maintain the Preventative Maintenance program for all major equipment as specified by management.
  • Manage labor costs and determine whether work should be completed in-house or outsourced, considering the competencies of the maintenance staff.
  • Initiate purchases for repairs and maintenance components, including outsourced fabrication and contract labor.
  • Maintain accurate inventories of replacement and repair parts.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related Business field is required.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience is required.
  • At least 5 years of maintenance or engineering experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment is essential.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer literacy is necessary.
  • Experience in estimating maintenance and repair costs is required.
