TPGI CPA is a full-service Finance and Accounting Consulting firm specializing in governmental and nonprofit consulting. We are seeking to fill a Senior Consultant role. In this role, you will work directly with a Senior Manager with 30+ years of experience and receive direct mentoring and career training while working with some large governmental clients.  This will be a fully remote position.

In this role, you may work on assignments that provide clients with guidance on financial statement reporting compliance requirements established by the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB), Federal Accounting Standards and Advisory Board (FASAB), the Government Accountability Office (GAO), and the Office of Management and Budget (OMB)/Treasury and with audits at a federal or State government agency. This may include utilizing audit and consultative skills in the following areas: Evaluating Treasury reports such as FMS 224, GTAS, SF 133

  • Reviewing and assisting Financial Management staff employed at Federal agencies and Nonprofit entities with report variances research
  • Reviewing reconciliation of accounts to ensure subsystems agree to the General Ledger and/or Treasury balances and recommending journal entries to adjust balances as necessary
  • Identifying and advising on Federal reporting requirements applicable to the client entity
  • Supporting financial statement audits, preparing and responding to Prepared by Client (PBC) requests, and meeting with external auditors and peer consultants to develop work plans, draft financial statements, and related notes
  • Document various accounting and financial reporting policies, processes and desk procedures, including how data is generated and whether adequate validation and review processes are in place to ensure accurate data is reported according to OMB guidance
  • Develop recommendations for improvements in internal controls and develop justification for financial/accounting policy to prevent waste, fraud, and abuse and discourage errors and irregularities
  • Execute the day-to-day activities of Federal audit engagements and support the execution of a high-quality audit
  • Assist with the development of audit and testing plans. Apply expertise to the practical issues identified by the client.
  • Perform tests of transactions, preparing schedules, and evaluating audit evidence
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge and stay current on developments in accounting literature, including those specific to assigned industries
  • Prepare or Review draft deliverables prepared by engagement teams and present final results to client or management
  • Providing technical knowledge; working individually and on teams to support the completion of specific tasks within time and budget constraints; and interfacing with the client on a day-to-day basis

Position Requirements:

  • BA/BS/BBA degree from an accredited college/university with a major in Accounting.
  • Minimum of 2- 4 years of accounting and/or auditing experience, including 1 year of financial statement audit experience
  • Minimum of 1 year experience working with Federal clients
  • Project management experience
  • Demonstrates leadership, problem-solving, and strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an interim U.S. security clearance (requires U.S. citizenship)
