Position Overview: They are seeking an experienced Project Manager in Cabinet & Millwork Design to join their team. The Project Manager will develop and oversee high-end custom cabinet projects from inception to completion, ensuring quality and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage multiple high-end custom cabinet projects simultaneously with timelines ranging from 6 months to 2 years.
  • Collaborate with Designers to create detailed design documentation and presentations.
  • Research products and materials, aids in selection of material for products.
  • Identify and recommend solutions for unique project requirements.
  • Recommends sequencing of work in conjunction with management and schedules.
  • Provides technical expertise to the Production team.
  • Compile, organize, and maintain all job-related information in drawings and internal systems.
  • Develop project details and requirements for onsite construction partners.
  • Organize and prepare all samples for client approval.
  • Conduct site visits to verify field dimensions and coordinate work with contractors and other trades.
  • Prepare shop drawings for onsite teams and in-house production.
  • Create supplemental drawings and information for specialty items.
  • Prepare job specifications and order lists.
  • Act as a technical representative, ensuring all project elements function correctly.
  • Review and release final shop drawings for production.
  • Participates in hand-off meetings to ensure team has a complete understanding of project, production schedule and installation requirements.
  • Monitor critical aspects of the job through the shop to ensure original design intent.

Qualifications:

  • Computer Skills:
  • Proficient in AutoCAD LT (2D).
  • Proficient in Adobe PDF/Blue Beam.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with SketchUp (preferred, to be further implemented).
  • Technical Knowledge:
  • Understanding of cabinet construction methods (European vs. Inset, Slab doors vs. Shaker doors, etc.).
  • Basic knowledge of common wood species and wood products.
  • Ability to understand and implement hardware and appliance specifications.
  • Knowledge of architecture/interior design concepts, including space planning and current/traditional design trends.
  • Familiarity with residential construction concepts, including electrical, plumbing, low voltage wiring, and general construction principles.
  • Traditional woodworking and furniture design concepts (preferred, can be taught to a motivated individual).
  • Additional Requirements:
  • Ability to work primarily at a computer and in office meetings, with occasional monitoring of projects in the shop, field visits, and coordination via phone/email.
  • Adaptability to a fluid project environment, acting as the technical representative.
  • Ability to take direction from CDC Designers and upper management.
  • Professional representation of CDC in interactions with employees, clients, and trade partners.
