Corporate Office Location: Fort Lauderdale, Florida

Project Locations: Fort Lauderdale and Miami, Florida

Status: Full-time employee

Relevant Work Experience: Minimum of 7 years’ experience in commercial estimating for construction remodel/repair, restoration and roofing

Education Level: College degree required

Compensation: Salary commensurate with knowledge and experience and job duties ($85k-$100k)

National Group is a privately owned commercial construction firm that specializes in property cabinets, construction maintenance, equipment rentals, reconstruction, restoration, roofing, and consulting to clients who need various services.  Offices are in both Miami and Fort Lauderdale. The company is a commercial general contractor focused on construction rebuild and maintenance projects. Projects range in size from $50,000 to $10,000,000+ with a strong emphasis on the South Florida market. 

 

The company is searching for an experienced Project Manager with at least 10 years of experience managing commercial remodel/repair projects including undefined scopes of work, obtaining bids from subcontractors and vendors, negotiating subcontracts, job scheduling, detailed billing for labor, equipment, and materials, etc.  Experience in commercial reconstruction, restoration, knowledge of estimating and ability to read and understand plans, specifications, subcontracts, codes, and safety regulations is a plus. Bilingual is highly desired.

 

Job Description:

Responsibilities

·       Perform project site visits and estimates for reconstruction, restoration and roofing projects.

·       Review proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and contents for estimates.

·       Review and incorporate historical data for labor, materials, transportation, and subcontractors.

·       Ensure all working documents and data are maintained to provide support for estimates.

·       Follow up on contracts regarding estimate and coordinate any change orders, credits, procuring materials, etc.

·       Work with other departments to evaluate rates for estimating projects.

·       Perform additional assignments per supervisor’s direction.

Skills:

·       Complete understanding of the construction and roofing industry

·       Computer knowledge and efficiency, including all Microsoft Office products

·       Excellent written and verbal communication skills

·       Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality

·       Excellent time management and organizational skills

·       Ability to multitask and work in a diligent and rapid manner

Qualifications: 

·       Bachelor’s degree in related field required

·       Equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience acceptable

·       Seven (7) years of experience in commercial construction and roofing applications and estimating

·       Knowledge of all types of commercial roof systems and applicable repair methods

·       Thorough knowledge of construction estimating techniques, engineering disciplines, and cost controls

·       Must have a vehicle and valid driver’s license and insurable driving record

·       Demonstrated problem solving skills by using persistence and ability to overcome obstacles

·       Proficiency with MS Office and ERP systems
