We are seeking a very specific type of candidate. The candidate we are looking for should be working in manufacturing as a Manager of Purchasing having buyers reporting to them. Additionally, the candidate should have over 1 million dollars of open PO's at any given time. Our Purchasing Manager will be the leader of the purchasing group and is expected to make the following contributions to our success:
Responsible for the planning, procurement, on time delivery, and inventory level of assigned commodities and spend categories including material, supplies, equipment and services. This position will report to the Director of Manufacturing and will lead all Purchasing, Logistics and Warehouse activities for the manufacturing site under minimal direction.
- Manage a team of buyers procuring direct and indirect materials for the Fort Worth manufacturing site
- Execute supplier sourcing strategies collaborating with supplier quality, engineering, corporate procurement and planning teams
- Manage supplier base to meet site procurement goals of on-time deliveries, inventory to target, purchase price variance and day’s payable outstanding.
- Resolve supplier issues including expediting deliveries, working with supplier management teams and cross functional teams to avoid any stock out
- Implement tools to analyze demand, safety stocks, supply and inventory
- Set safety stock strategies considering demand/supply variation, EOQ as inputs
- Responsible for ensuring all purchases are properly authorized
- Perform Purchasing review and approval of engineering changes
- Promote and maintain positive working relationship among staff and suppliers
- Responsible for maintaining inventory investment and product availability within specified range for assigned commodities.
- Responsible for purchased product from the time a purchase order is issued until the product is received into stock, and available for use.
- Manage Warehouse Leader responsible for warehouse management, field Part requests, spare parts stock, KPIs, inventory accuracy and material shipping and transference of goods to other locations and vendors.
- Manage Logistics coordinator responsible for activities related to the material and finish goods movement from vendors and to customers.
