We are looking to add an Experienced Dermatology Clinical Nurse Lead to our team Dermatology Experience is Required for this position.

Position Summary:

Coordinates and oversees activities of the clinic and clinical team members to ensure compassionate, effective, and efficient delivery of excellent care for patients, the providers, and clinical team. The clinical lead will work daily on the floor providing critical clinical support to the providers, clinical team, and patients.


Essential Functions:

To accomplish this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform, with or without reasonable accommodation, each essential function satisfactorily.

  • Organize and assign duties and tasks to clinical team members. Examples: Monitor MIPS dashboard, surgery post op calls, iPad updates, chart auditing etc.
  • Establish clinical team member work schedules monthly and review daily and weekly with the office administrator. – Based on patient volume at both offices.
  • Monitor daily performance of clinical team members to ensure duties are completed accurately, efficiently, and timely. Work with the office administrator to monitor and control overtime.
  • Conduct orientation and training on clinical policies and procedures. Ensure training checklists are completed appropriately by newly hired staff and those who need to be recertified (1 – 2 times per year). This includes floor, charge, and triage training.
  • Ensure that triage and charge check lists are completed and accurate at the end of each day.
  • Identify and recommend solutions to clinical team members with clinical office issues or clinical problems.
  • Ensure high quality clinical care for patients by reviewing and researching concerns or complaints and recommending corrective action as appropriate.
  • Oversee and ensure clinical supplies are adequately stocked and inventory count is completed monthly.
  • Ensure clinical equipment remains in operating condition.
  • Ensure clinical policies and procedures comply with current state and federal regulations and OSHA, HIPPA, MIPS, and CLIA (when it requires) requirements and regulations. Identify and recommend policies and procedures as needed to ensure quality, compliance, accuracy, and cost efficiency.
  • Assist medical assistants, nurses, and providers with maintaining patient flow to ensure patients are seen timely and efficiently.
  • Oversee triage to see that medical assistants, nurses and providers are returning patient calls and completing provider orders such as medication refills, scheduling referral and/or specialist appointments.
  • Attend clinical meetings and relay pertinent information to clinical team members in a timely manner.
  • Maintain certification or licensure. Maintain CPR certification. (If applicable)
  • Work at different Eastside Dermatology office locations as needed.
  • Oversees new hire checklists are completed appropriately – floor, triage, and charge.
  • Ensure triage checklists are completed by the end of each day.
  • Work directly with the providers to assist as necessary with patient care.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • ·Associate degree or higher preferred
  • Medical office experience preferred.
  • LPN or RN license required.
  • Environmentally controlled medical office environment
  • Fast paced environment with occasional high pressure or emergent situations
  • Work hours subject to office needs to ensure coverage during all hours of operation.
  • Frequent exposure to bodily fluids
  • Possible exposure to infectious specimens, communicable diseases, toxic substances, medicinal preparations, and other conditions common to a laboratory and medical office environment
  • May wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as gloves or a mask.
  • Frequent interaction with a diverse population including team members, providers, patients, insurance companies and other members of the public.


Physical Demands:

  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, grasping, carrying, and speaking.
  • Occasional reaching, bending, and stooping.
  • Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 pounds, with assistance if needed
  • May need to lift or turn patients who are disabled, with assistance if needed.
  • Frequent use of computer, keyboard, copy and fax machine and phone.
