Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our team at our Chesterfield and Glen Carbon offices. As a Medical Assistant, you will be responsible for performing high-quality medical, clinical, and clerical tasks in a medical setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Care: Promote a professional and welcoming atmosphere that enhances the quality of service and care offered to patients and providers.
  • Clinical Support: Have a thorough working knowledge of all standard operating protocols and policies that pertain to the clinical department.
  • Treatment Preparation: Have thorough knowledge of all clinical treatments to appropriately care for patients' needs. Proficient in pre-care and post-care treatment instructions.
  • Inventory Management: Check all equipment at the beginning of each shift and maintain all treatment rooms. Daily scan of retail and cosmetic products and medical supplies and alert team and GM of any low-level supplies as needed.
  • Administrative Tasks: Perform inventory responsibilities and stocking of supplies and equipment as requested. Complete all SDGU and required training and continued education opportunities within the allotted time frame.
  • Procedure Support: Assist the physician in Mohs surgery, medical, cosmetic, allergy, and/or laser procedures. Preps surgical/exam rooms for all procedures and properly cleans exam rooms after every visit.
  • Documentation: Properly assists provider in recording prescribed treatments, medications, lab requisitions, biopsies, cultures, photos, prescriptions, prior authorization, obtaining consents, and/or procedures within established guidelines.
  • Front Desk Support: Take payments, book follow-up visits, and track inventory used during visit as needed.
  • Team Collaboration: Learn and adhere to new workflows including Klara paperwork, patient notifications, and patient messaging. Assist in covering the front desk or greeter role when office needs.
  • Compliance: Working knowledge and application of HIPAA & OSHA compliance.
Requirements
  • Experience: Prior experience working in an outpatient surgery clinical environment strongly preferred.
  • Certification: Medical Assistant Certified strongly encouraged.
  • Technical Skills: Experience using EMR software and patient scheduling systems preferred.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Customer Service: Excellent patient relations and customer services skills.
  • Availability: Open availability to work during office and/or scheduled hours.
