In accordance with the Agency’s Mission Statement, Code of Ethics, policies and procedures, State of Michigan licensing, contracts and COA standards, the Recruiter is responsible for researching, developing, implementing effective recruiting, and staffing strategies to attract a diverse pool of qualified and capable talent for Vista Maria.

TASKS OF THE POSITION
•    Develops effective recruiting plans and strategies.
•    Reviews and clarifies job specifications, competencies and skills required.
•    Sources applicants through various methods including advertising, recruiters, job sites, career fairs, online platforms.
•    Maintains effective relationships with social and professional networks to source qualified candidates.
•    Screens resumes to align job candidate profiles with staffing objectives.
•    Schedules interviews, oversees preparation of interview questions and other hiring and selection materials.
•    Assists in the interview process, attending and conducting interviews with managers, directors, and other stakeholders.
•    Briefs and debriefs candidates before and after interviews.
•    Collaborates with the hiring manager and/or other human resource staff during the offer process, identifying and recommending salary ranges, incentives, start dates and other pertinent details.
•    Facilitates the pre-employment testing.
•    Manages all communication with the candidate during the hiring process.
•    Provides regular updates and feedback to the hiring manager.
•    Manages the applicant tracking system.
•    Drafts rejection letters.
•    Enters all new hire information into the HR database.
•    Performs all other duties as required or requested by the agency.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES 
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
•    Excellent interpersonal skills and good negotiation tactics.
•    Ability to create and implement sourcing strategies for recruitment for a variety of roles.
•    Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative.
•    Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
•    Familiarity with laws, regulations, and best practices applicable to hiring and recruitment.
•    Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn UKG, the applicant tracking software or other recruitment systems.
•    Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
•    Knowledge of relevant social media platforms.
•    Ability to maintain the highly confidential nature of human resources work.
•    Ability to travel for recruitment meetings, college visits, career fairs, etc.
•    Ability to work with a diverse group of staff, candidates and external organizations.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
No supervisory responsibilities


QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION / TRAINING)
Required:
•    Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field, or equivalent work experience, required.
•    At least 2 years of experience managing all phases of the recruitment and hiring process highly preferred.
•    Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification preferred.
•    Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends as needed.
•    A valid State of Michigan driver’s license without relevant restrictions.
