Technical skills (Required - Mandatory)

  • Strong knowledge of Mac OS X, iOS, and related software applications.
  • Previous experience in technical support, preferably with a focus on Apple products and technologies
  • 1 year of experience supporting Microsoft systems (Windows7, 8.1,10)
  • Must know PC hardware architecture
  • Must know typical desktop applications (i.e., MS Office, virus scan, Ghost, etc.)
  • Service skills

  • HW/SW Troubleshooting

    Windows and Microsoft Office troubleshooting

    Audio/Video Conference Basic troubleshooting

    Networking and end-user computer networking connectivity issues

  • Mac OS device setup and troubleshooting experience
  • Experience working with Ticketing Systems (ServiceNow, Remedi, or similar)

Areas of Responsibilities:

 

The role is expected to carry out the following functions/activities as part of this job.

· Provide level1 support. desktop/ laptop replacement/setup

· Commissioning / Decommissioning Hardware to/from different locations. 

Technical Support: Providing technical assistance and troubleshooting for end-users experiencing hardware, software, or network-related issues. This may involve diagnosing and resolving problems with computers, printers, mobile devices, and other peripherals.

Hardware Installation and Maintenance: Installing, configuring, and maintaining desktops, laptops, and other hardware devices. This includes ensuring that equipment is up-to-date with necessary software patches and updates.

Software Installation and Configuration: Installing, configuring, and updating software applications as needed. This involves ensuring that software licenses are valid and in compliance with organizational policies.

User Training and Assistance: Assisting users in understanding how to use software applications and hardware devices effectively. This may involve providing one-on-one training sessions or creating user guides and documentation.

User Account Management: Managing user accounts, including creating, modifying, and deactivating accounts as per organizational requirements. This also involves ensuring that users have appropriate access permissions based on their roles and responsibilities.

Remote Support: Providing remote assistance to users who are working off-site or in remote locations. This may involve using remote desktop tools to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.

Asset Management: Tracking and managing IT assets such as computers, peripherals, and software licenses. This includes maintaining accurate asset inventory records, tracking asset movement, and conducting periodic audits.

Security Compliance: Ensuring compliance with IT security policies and procedures. This involves implementing security measures to protect sensitive information and data from unauthorized access or breaches.

Documentation and Reporting: Maintaining documentation of support activities, including recording incident details, solutions provided, and any follow-up actions taken and generating reports to track support trends and performance metrics.

Collaboration and Communication: Collaborating with other IT teams and departments to resolve complex issues or implement IT projects and communicating effectively with end-users to provide updates on the status of their support requests and ensure customer satisfaction.
