Our client is a privately held oil and gas energy company looking for a Senior Property Accountant to join their team on a Direct hire basis

This position is 100% onsite in Plano.

Compensation: 85K+ DOE + 100% paid employee benefits

This position plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and timely completion of operational accounting for Production, Revenue, Royalty, JIB, Inventory and reconciliations.

This position will report to the Controller as well as assist the CEO and other internal employees. The ideal candidate will have excellent attention to detail and be able to pick up new tasks quickly. He or she will have a strong work ethic, commitment to clear goals and measurable outcomes, an ability to learn quickly and with practical sense.

Responsibilities:

  • Process Oil and Gas operational accounting tasks as noted above.

  • Review allocations and calculations, with a focus on revenue and royalty accuracy.

  • Orchestrate and oversee the monthly close process for a designated group of assets.

  • Ensure all journals are properly documented and reviewed for seamless financial reporting.

  • Perform in-depth analysis and reconciliations of general accounts, related to Production, Revenue, Royalty, JIB and Inventory accounting.

  • Analyze account reconciliations, setting clear deadlines for resolving any discrepancies.

  • Take ownership of special project requests from management and operations teams, ensuring successful completion.

  • Assist the Controller in coordinating external audit and tax requests, facilitating clear communication and information exchange.

 

Qualifications:

  • A degreed accountant with 2+ years of direct experience in Oil & Gas revenue accounting.

  • A Microsoft Office wiz, particularly Excel (Use of Excel functions VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Formulas is required). Bonus points for experience with BOLO ERP systems.

  • A clear and confident communicator who can effectively collaborate with all levels of management and staff.

  • A master of multitasking, juggling complex projects simultaneously and meeting deadlines under pressure.

  • A self-motivated, detail-oriented achiever who takes ownership and thrives on delivering results.

  • A problem-solver with the ability to independently find solutions as challenges arise.
