General Responsibilities:

The primary role of the Retail Analyst is to manage any activity that relates to our retail side of this business.  This includes effectively communicating with our plants as well as our retail sales team to determine usage demand and monitor and juggle future forecasting.  The Retail Analyst will also execute processes from securing, loading and delivery of products to our plants. Communication with accounting, outside suppliers, and others as necessary.


Specific Duties:

  • Manage customer relationships as assigned including inventory control, and working with the production plants to ensure product is available, based off future estimated forecasts.
  • Manage intercompany relationships to ensure information is entered accurately into the company’s ERP system and information is being invoiced to the customers correctly.
  • Provide timely, accurate month-end reports as requested by management.
  • Schedule, track and forecast shipments to our Texas, Wisconsin and Ohio plants of raw materials ensuring our contract commitments are met and plants have the required raw materials.
  • Maintain a dialog with the plants on their forecasted production rates.
  • Maintain a plan, forecast and actual of production, usage, disappearance, and inventories understanding plant parameters surrounding inventory using said forecast to predict issues that management need to be addressed.
  • Develop relationships with suppliers resolving supplier performance and supply chain issues with an understanding of raw material pricing to make recommendations during procurement.
  • Work within the company’s ERP system and third-party platforms to resolve customer issues.
  • Vet penalties and charges placed on the company, to ensure that all charges are legitimate.
  • Explore ideas for use optimization when downtime allows to determine availability for other movement opportunities.
  • Consistently research and recommend new opportunities and strategies to procure more cost-effective raw materials and transportation.
  • Maintain information which allows for the approval of invoices.
  • Maintain accurate records of each logistic transaction as prescribed by departmental procedures.
  • Data entry as required for order tracking, scheduling, and invoicing.
  • Follow prescribed company policies, departmental procedures, and sound logistics practices to perform logistics activities.
  • Work with the Director of Operations as well as Head of Sales, as requested.
  • Prepares & maintains new customer change documentation for data entry.
  • Works to complete assigned tasks with a sense of urgency.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Logistics/Accounting Cross Functional Duties:

  • Participate in ERP training of new and current employees.
  • Review invoices for accuracy; Make changes/corrections to POs as needed.
  • Work with vendors and customers on invoice/PO discrepancies.

       Create and maintain spreadsheets as required.

 

Qualification Requirements:

  • A four-year degree in Business or directly applicable work experience.
  • 2-5 years’ experience of similar experience preferably with rail movements.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and customer service skills.
  • Strong PC skills (MS products, Adobe), including experience utilizing the Internet as a resource.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships internally and externally.
  • Dynamic personality to work with multiple types of employees.
  • Strong and diverse experience in all areas of logistics.
  • Experience in expediting and negotiations in the logistics process.
